To apply for a Ration Card under the RTPS Bihar Portal, follow the steps below:

Steps to Apply for a Ration Card:

Step 1: Login or Signup

  • Log In (Existing Users): If you already have an account on the “Meri Pehchan” portal, log in with your user ID and password. The account should be in the name of the family head (e.g., grandfather or father, if living).
  • New Account (if needed):
    • Select “New User” to Create RTPS account.
    • Enter your mobile number and generate an OTP.
    • Verify OTP, then enter first and last names, date of birth, and gender.
    • Create a user ID with a secure password and complete registration.

Step 2: Start Application

  • Access Services: Use the search bar to type “Ration Card” and locate the application.
  • Apply for Ration Card: Select “Access Now” and click the login option on the pop-up. Complete the application within 30 days to avoid re-entering family details.

Step 3: Gather Required Documents

Prepare the following:

  • Self-attested Aadhaar copy
  • Bank details (name, account number, IFSC)
  • Family photograph
  • Applicant’s signature
  • Disability, income, and caste certificates (if applicable)

Step 4: Fill Out the Application

  • Start New Application: Choose “Rural” or “Urban” based on your residence.
    • Rural Application: Enter details such as:
      • Sub-division, block, village, applicant name, address, birth date, and marital status.
      • Caste, category, occupation, income, and Aadhaar and mobile numbers.
    • Submit: Once filled, submit the form. Note your application ID.

Step 5: Add Family Members

Add Member Details: Click “Add Member.”

For each member, add name, gender, birth date, marital status, relationship to cardholder, Aadhaar, and occupation.

Step 6: Upload Documents

Go to Document Upload: Select “Go for Document Upload.”

Upload Files: Include family photo, applicant’s signature, Aadhaar card, and any other required documents, ensuring file sizes meet requirements.

Step 7: Submit and Track Application

You can check the status of your application at any time by:

  • Final Submission: Submit the application. A confirmation message will appear.
  • Track Status: Use your application ID to check the status anytime on the Track RTPS Application Status page.
